I saw plenty of floating trees and rocks that weren't correctly placed within geometry, its not very noticeable when rushing through the forest, but its hard to un-see it. Refreshed stages all look great and are very well designed, but you can see a lot of jank and lack of polish when looking closely.

You can really feel the extra power and it adds extra depth to the driving and strategizing. Its a really enjoyable loop of building up your electric charge when braking and then unleashing extra 134 BHP on corner exit. Then again Citroën Xsara 2002 WRC is amazing and a dream to drive, so its not all bad.Īddition of hybrid WRC1 cars is another highlight. You will be spending most of the time in WRC1, so it isn't much of an issue, but still, I hoped they would finally fix all the classic cars and my beloved Audi Quattro.

Unfortunately, not all the cars received the same level of polish and while WRC1 cars all feel fantastic, some of the legendary classic cars and WRC 2 cars are a bit weird and lack detail. There is some throttle weirdness and I had to reconfigure in game settings for my Thrustmaster T300 wheel, but overall most of the cars feel great. I must say that despite all the hate from Broadbent I had the most fun with handling in this installment of WRC. Cars no longer go flying over a smallest bump in the road and you actually feel like you can control them with proper weight transfer. In WRC Generations cars have a proper weight and don't feel like they are made of paper. Finally! I hated WRC10 handling, all the cars felt too light and twitchy, making them very frustrating on a wheel.

However, the biggest improvement is in the handling.

That doesn't mean its just a repacking, most of the rallies were visually touched up and some of them (Sweden and Japan) received a major overhaul, making them the best interations in the series. Keep in mind that most of this is a collection of everything WRC games have done since WRC7, basically a greatest hits of sorts. After very underwhelming WRC10 and Jimmy Broadbent's criticism of WRC Generations, my expectations were very low for this one, but in the end I'm very happy to say that KT Racing ended their run on a high note.įirst of all, its a huge package, the sheer amount of rallies, cars and game modes makes this a great value for its price.
